Cheapest health insurance for 20 y/o married couple in MA? -
Ameriplan isn't insurance and you won't be in compliance with the law if you get it. It costs what it costs - taking higher deductibles will lower your monthly rate. In your area, see if you're within the range for Tufts or Fallon - those will likely have the BEST rates. Look up a health plan Called Ameriplan. They have reasonable and affordable rates, and are fairly widely accepted. Good luck in finding something to suit your needs. "For a low cost health insurance you are best to go with Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). They have better terms than a Fee-for-Service plan. HMO’s have a pre paid health plan that is very comprehensive. This health insurance includes doctors visits, hospital stays, emergency care, surgery, lab test, x-rays and therapy. The will all be organised by the HMO within its offices and/or through doctors and other health care professionals working for them. The disadvantage to this health insurance is that the providers of your care can only come from the HMO. Payments are lower though, they average at about $5 per doctor visit and $25 dollar for an emergency room visit." check out: http://www.insightempire.com/Healthinsur... for a full review of the types of insurance available to you. Hope that helps :D To find the cheapest rates, contact a health insurance broker. A broker works with several health insurers and can help figure out the best plan, rates and coverage. To find a broker, log on to a website like http://www.healthinsurancewiz.com and fill out a form requesting a free quote. Your information will be sent to a broker in your area who will contact you. If you are young and healthy, you might want to look into an IRS-approved High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). The plan has high deductible amounts, so the premiums are much lower than with traditional health insurance. An HDHP allows you to shelter up to $2,850 per year from federal and state taxes in a Health Savings Account (HSA). Depending on your tax bracket and where you live, that could save you as much as $1,480 in taxes per year, assuming a combined tax rate of 47.65%—35% in federal income tax, and 7.65% in Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA) tax, and 5% in state income tax (MA). The MA Insurance Connector will give you overview and pricing of all of the self-pay insurance plans in Massachusetts in compliance with the Health Care Reform Act. http://www.mahealthconnector.org/portal/... You can definitely find some where the premiums are very low, however if you did need care, you would be responsible for high deductibles. I'd compare quotes, using a site like this: http://www.ehealthinsurance.com/ I would also check for an HSA (Health Savings Account) as that will have tax advantages for you. You can do that on that site. I pray you're healthy, and stay that way, so hopefully the high deductible will work for you. Please get annual physicals whether there is insurance coverage for you or not--prevention or catching something early is ALWAYS way cheaper.
