Does anyone know how to get a 2 day insurance for a party room? -
Sure, it's a special event policy. It's pretty easy to get. There are two ways - call your homeowners agent, see if there's an endorsement they can put onto your homeowners or renters policy. If not, an independent agent can drum up a special event policy for you, for $250, if you're just having a party. If it's NOT a party, or if you need liquor liability or such, it might cost a lot more. I think InsuranceGuy gave you great advice. If you have property /home insurance, I suggest that you contact them. Sometimes these insurances cover a surprising array of things even outside the home. Check with your insurance agent. If you have a homeowners insurance policy the liability portion of your policy covers personal liability on and off premises. For example, you are walking your dog at the local city park and he bites someone the liability coverage applies even though the incident wasn't on your residence premises. Many, but not all, homeowners policy will cover personal liability, with no additional charge, for a party that is held off premises. That being said, you must verify the coverage with your agent because some companies do not provide coverage for temporary property rentals. Even if your homeowners policy will cover the rental complications may arise that might require a special event policy. If the lessor requires that they be named as an additional insured (your homeowners policy won't do that) or if you have a cash bar (possible liquor liability exposure). Get the advice of your agent. If you need a special event policy the premium will be between $250 and $500. It's called "special event" liability - and is sold on short terms only. All you need to do is find a local independent agent and ask him. I would probably call the agent that has your house or cars or business or some other "supportive" business, The reason for this is that it is NOT going to cost you a lot of money and the agent/broker won't make much off the deal..... Good luck and I hope this helps!
