Insurance question? -

i crash my truck a week ago..it was my fault but yet the other guys did not have insurance and they were not from texas neither...could they still make a claim..i talked to my insurance agent and she said that they haven't even call to the insurance company... What does Texas have to do with it? I'm missing something. Sure, they can make a claim. You're at fault. They have two years to claim injuries. Yes they can still make a claim. It does not matter that they had no insurance becuase you were at fault, so your insurnace will be the one to pay out for them. They have up to 3 years in most states to file a claim for this. In theory, they could sue you for damages up to 4 years after the accident. In practice, if they haven't called after a week, they are never going to. Since it does you no good to worry and there's nothing you can do right now anyway, just fix up your truck and get on with your life. If they come after you some time in the future, worry about it then. no It doesnt matter. If you are at fault you are responsible for their damages, regardless if they have insurance or not, and it doesn't matter where they live. In the state of TX a person has up to 2 years from the date of the accident to make a claim for their damages and/or injuries Since you mention TX, I suspect that's where you are. Insurance regulations vary from state to state, so you have to ask your insurance agent how long they have where they potentially COULD make a claim. ALSO... if you're in TX, and =IF= they're Mexican Nationals, or illegal aliens, they might ignore it. You can also ask your agent if your uninsured motorist coverage would pay for the repairs to your vehicle, but if you go that route, since you were at fault, your rates will rise.
