IRA self employed? -
I will be working formyself and filing my own taxes. Can I open an IRA for myself, or does it have to be through an employer? and what is the maximum I can contribute? I am 30 years old Yes, you can open an IRA for yourself, either traditional, or Roth. You can open a SEP IRA. You can contribute up to $45k in 2007. $46k in 2008. Good luck on your new venture
