Ok, I just asked about insurance for a business, follow up on that question? -
http://snipurl.com/1vdk0 was my previous question, that 'if someone comes to your house, slips and falls' part concerns me. what kind of insurance would I need say if I were to do local pickup and dropoff of your computer for no additional charge kind of deal? I go to your house, pick up your computer, fix it, return it tomorrow, what kind of insurance would I need then? Hi, while the house owner would have public liability insurance which would cover you if you got injured in their house, you should also have public liability insurance yourself. For instance, say you go to collect a computer from someone's house, you leave it down on the driveway for a moment to run back in for something and the postman falls over it, while he could sue the houseowner, it would be your liability as you left it there in your capacity as a computer repair guy. So, public liability first off. Secondly, you would need "goods in trust" cover as you would be liable for the computers while they are in your custody, care and control. Thirdly, make sure that your vehicle is insured to carry work related goods and that if you are involved in any collision and the computers get damaged, they are covered. Finally, if you have anyone working with you helping you repair the computers, obviously enough you need employers liability too. Good luck Cargo, Bailee, Commercial auto, property, General liability.
