An endorsement - a change to the policy. It's always issued by the insurance company. But sometimes it can be at the request of the insured. If you change your address, that change IS an endorsement. Depends on the document. Indorsement / Endorsement - a signature that validates something; "the cashier would not cash the check without an endorsement"
