Will my home owers insurance cover contents stolen from my car if my car was parked away from my home? -

If your homeowners insurance has theft coverage, yes, it should. HOWEVER, be sure to check the deductible on your homeowners vs the value of the items stolen, AND, be sure to read over the limitations/exclusions on electronic items and media that you keep in your car (as usually, that's all that gets stolen from a car, besides purses/wallets). What does your policy says? Yes it should Yes, I'm sure they will. You're covered no matter where you are.....otherwise what's the point of having insurance? If the item is covered by your homeowners yes. Some things are not covered by your basic homeowners. Things like radar detectors and CB radios which are expected to be in your car are typically not covered. Also, high value art or jewelry may not be covered unless specifically scheduled. High value coin collections may not be. Along with a host of other things. But if it is covered in your homeowners, it really doesn't matter where it was stolen from. It wil be covered. Read you policy. Call them and ask. Yes. Your homeowners policy covers your personal property when you are away from home. So if you go on a cruise and while at the harbor unloading the suit case the car backs over it - that would be covered under the homeowners policy. In general, contents coverage is worldwide. Your homeowners deductible will apply. If there was damage to your car - that would fall under your auto policy (comprehensive) and that deductible would apply as well.
