Any D.O.s or M.D. here? Does the hospital cover your malpractice insurance premiums? -

Are malpractice premiums a big drain on physicians' salary? Please give an example and the net pay at the end after paying the malpractice insurance. Thanks :) If you are hospital staff, they pay your med mal. VERY few doctors are hospital staff - most just have hospital priveleges. BUT, med mal isn't ANY drain on the physician's "salary", because for the most part, they incorporate. The corporation pays both the med mal premiums, AND the salary to they physician. You're asking for a quote on med mal. It's got a HUGE variance - it can be anywhere from $2500 a year to $100,000 a year, or higher, depending on a large variety of factors. who owns the corp? hey, it's the dr.....this is a stupid comment! Report Abuse no and it is the very reason a lot of them get out of it. salaries depend on your specialty. don't go into anything thinking how rich you will get. I know a Dr whose house was foreclosed.
