Health Insurance? -

I live in Georgia, I have PCOS and have no health insurance. Does anyone know of any low cost health insurance companies or plans. This medical condition really affects my life. Your best bet at treating your PCOS is a low carb diet, exercise, and an insulin sensitizing drug such as Glucophage. There is a generic form of this called metformin. It is possible to treat your PCOS without the metformin, but it is a lot easier to control it with the drug. I do not really know the cost of the medicine without insurance, but you could call your local pharmacy and ask. A site I've used for quotes in the past ... http://www.safelinked.info/go.php?link=i... Hope that helps. I'm not sure it's possible to put the words "low cost" and "health insurance" in the same sentence? (I know it's awful...) Have you tried getting Medicaid or some sort of state medical help? I don't know of any insurance plan to offer you, but I would suggest you look around, maybe call some agents locally and get quotes, see if they can even get you coverage for your condition. It may actually fall under the pre-existing condition area and would mean no coverage? However, I am a rep with Ameriplan. We are not insurance, but may be able to help you save some money either way. I have a lot of members on the plan that have been denied insurance and rather than pay full price out of pocket, they are saving at least 50-80% most often. You can view details at http://www.greatsmilesgreatsavings.com Check out your options and let me know if you need anything from me. Good Luck! It costs what it costs. If you're healthy and 25, it's $250 a month, period. With health insurance, you get what you pay for. But with PCOS, no private carrier is going to take you. SO, to get low cost insurance with a preexisting condition, you'll have to find an employer and get it through them, and wait out your 18 month exclusion period. To find the best rates, I recommend speaking with a health insurance broker. A broker works with several health insurers and can help figure out the best plan, rates and coverage. To find a broker, log on to a website like http://www.healthinsurancewiz.com and fill out a form requesting a free quote. Your information will be sent to a broker in your area who will contact you.
