Are doctors more likely to accept kaiser or blue sheild? -
That's like saying, are they more likely to wear a white shirt, or a blue one? It's going to vary. And that question is EXACTLY WHY you should buy your health insurance from a LOCAL AGENT, and not over the internet. A local agent will KNOW which plan has more providers IN YOUR AREA. It depends on if they are participating, if not, it depends on if you have out of network benefits. Always look for a doctor who is participating in your network. It's less out of pocket expense to you. Kaiser is a private hospital/insurance, and usually are in only Kaiser medical centers. They don't accept other insurance, and Kaiser is not accepted by private doctors. The exception to this is if you need a specialist that Kaiser does not have they will authorize you to go to another doctor. But for general practice you will need to go to one of their centers. If you are deciding between the two, you need to look at the doctors in your area. Sometimes there is not a Kaiser location close by so they become inconvenient. Unlike Blue Shield which will have several doctors spread out.
