Are doctors paid less in the united states? -

They make more in the US than Canada. Thats why its so hard to get a GP or specialist here. They make more, but its also a much more litigious society in the US. That's why all doctors in Canada got their medical degree from the university of Calcutta and don't speak Canadian english. compared to where? you have to compare standard of living also NO!!! Doctors are very highly paid in the US because it is privatized. I don't know any doctors in the US making less than $100K per year. I have two cousins in UK who are doctors and they make about 30K pounds per year, one in family practice and one in psychiatry, for the first several years. I don't know what they make now, but I don't think it's too much more. Less than what? Doctors in the US make MORE than any of the government doctors in countries with socialized medicine. Which is why the lines are so long, in those countries, to see a state doctor.
