Can my new company pay the premiums for my COBRA benefits from my previous job? -

I quit my job back in June to start my own company. I've been on COBRA ever since. I've been using my new company, a C-corporation, to pick up the tab for those premiums and I don't have any other insurance at the moment. Is this legal and/or advisable? If not, I owe the business a heap of money... The C-corp cannot take a deduction for your personal insurance. (The COBRA insurance was *not* a plan established by the business. This goes on your schedule A.) If you had the C-corp pay the money, then you should add this to your W-2 income as compensation. Can they? Sure, if they want to. Is it legal? I have no idea. You'll have to consult a lawyer.
