Car insurance.Im very frugal and i want to know if i can get my car ins.any lower than it is.? -
currently i pay around $175 a month for a 2000 kia and a 1997 chevy camaro.I have no accidents on record, excellent credit, and i live in florida. My ins.is with State Farm. Absolutely. Sell one of the cars. Move out of Florida. Both of those things will lower your rates. Besides that - discuss coverages with your agent. And remember this phrase your grandmother used to use - pennywise, pound foolish. I have no doubt you can find it cheaper than state farm. call a local independent agent and have them look for you. that said, remember cheaper is not better. its important to be with a company that is A+ rated and one that will actually be there for you when you need them. do your research on the company you go to (please dont go to Geico). you can still find a cheaper rate with a good company. Raise your deductibles to 1000, and have liabilty only on the camaro..Also, switch to Geico like the commercial says, as State Farm is not discount Frugal friend!! You can raise your deductibles. You can even consider dropping collision/comprehensive coverage on one or both cars. And of course you can shop around. But beware: the "cheap" insurances are the ones that will lowball you on any claims. Typically, insurance rates are filed by the various insurance companies that are licensed to do business in your State, and they vary from State to State. The best thing to do is call a LOCAL independent agent. Just look in the phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and you will find a professional licensed agent that will be able to help you solve your insurance problems. FL is a little different with your mandatory PIP/PD requirements. I give your local agent a call and have him shop the market for you....since they can't write home insurance now, I'm sure they would be GLAD to talk with you! An independent insurance agent will normally have a dozen different companies and if he cannot help you, he should be networked with other local agents that can. Good luck, drive RESPONSIBLY and I hope this helps!
