I have hpv and had to have surgery to get precanccerous cells removed.? -
I had insurance at the time but not anymore. I tried to apply again for insurance but they put a rider on my policy saying that it awas a pre existing condition and they wouldn't cover it for a year. I had the surgery in September 2006. I applied to medicaid but they said I didn't qualify for medacaid because I don't have kids. I was supposed to go for a follow up in August but didn't go because I couldn't afford it. I'm in college and I work but I can't afford to pay for another surgey if something is wrong. Any advice on what I should do? You will have to pay for the follow-up visit. But check with your doctor to see if he has any kind of payment plan-it shouldn't be THAT much. If you end up having to have another surgery, medicaid may cover it in your state specific to your cancer diagnosis. So you can apply at that time. You will need the cancer documentation from your doctor. You'd rather die than take a second job to pay for medical costs? You're young. You're in college. Either drop out for a semester to work full time, or take a job/second job, to pay for the costs. And go to the doctor for your followup.
