Does anyone know anything about renters insusrance? -
I was wondering if it was worth getting, since I travel now and then. Is it expensive? I want it in case of theft. It's cheap. You can get $20,000 of "stuff" covered for under $200 a year. please do, you never know what might happen in the future... warning ! make sure you are covered for water damages along with fire, and break ins.(theft) Renters insurance is so cheap. It is definately worth having. You can talk to your agent that writes your car insurance. They should be able to help. mine runs about 30 a mnth for 60000 in coverage in houston-- worth it since if the place burns down i still have a way to ahve new stuff-- and yes i was borkedn into last menth and glad i have it It's totally worth it since you are always away. The insurance will cover the loss of the contents in your home so you need not worry so much. However, keep your valuables in the bank including important legal documents such as passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc. Before you get your renter insurance, make sure you understand very well the "claim clauses" which explain to you the procedures in claiming your losses. Avoid complicated procedures which may result into non-payment. Get a very reliable and established NON-LIFE insurance company. Better yet, ask from your friends and relatives for referrals. Take care. Call an insurance agent .. yes, it's affordable.. its totally worth it, and very inexpensive
