Whats up with renter's insurance? -
is there home insurance for apartment dwellers? Renter insurance is often a requirement in some jurisdictions and some land lords. The insurance concentrates on your personal belongings in the property. For instance, here in California we experienced a lot of fire and smoke damage claims recently. I have seen some data supporting that a lot of people were under the illusion that they can file these claims against their landlords dwelling insurance. The landlords insurance only covers the dwelling itself not the contents of a renter. If you are interested in seeing some quotes I would suggest going to Geico's website. You can get an instant quote from them in just a couple of minutes. Average cost is about $300 a year for about 50K worth of coverage. There is. I was disappointed in the premiums though. I was paying $20/month for renters insurance. Then I bought a house and got homeowners insurance and the premium was only $25/month. You'd think the discrepancy would be much more between the two. yes, its called renters insurance or an HO4. This covers your property only, ot the dwelling itself. Its inexpensive and well worth getting 1 month of it.would cover most everything i own.you would think there would be price variables Yes, it's called . . . renters insurance, or tenant homeowners. Talk to the guy who writes your car insurance, for a quote. It's cheap.
