Is medical underwriting required for a renewal of an old Primerica custom protection policy? -
Our agent told us that upon renewal for the same amt coverage, medical uderwriting is required if she will transfer it to Custom Advantage (instead of Custom Protection). Is that correct? I know at the end of the term period that company lets you renew the policy without proof of insurability. I have obtained a few clients because when if was time to renew policy the premiums were to expensive. Contact local agents that represent other companies and get some quotes. Compare the quotes with the new policy that is going to be issued. I am pretty sure that you will stumble across an agent that can get you better rates and better features. I have been able to save some of my clients over 50% in monthly premiums. Most new, reinstated or upgraded/increased life insurance requires new underwriting. Yes, that sounds correct. Despite the coverage amount is the same, the policy itself is changing - you mentioned she is *transferring* the policy. That's the key consideration. (Advantage may likely save you more money than if you were to continue with Protection) Best of luck!
